Donald Pieper is an experienced trial attorney with a strong investigative and research background. He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps shortly after graduating high school. Upon completion of his military career, he began his collegiate career in Texas. Don went on to obtain a B.S. in Political Science, and later his J.D. in Law. During undergrad, Don strengthened his writing and editing skills while working in several editor roles in Downtown Houston. Additionally, he received training as a Mediator and Family Mediator. 


Prior to joining Taylor Anderson, Don played a valuable role in the criminal justice system; he was a public defender in both New Mexico and Colorado. As such, Don has amassed great understanding and familiarity with one of the most important aspects of any trial, jury selection.

Having tried more than 70 cases in three states, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, it is safe to say that Don is very comfortable in the courtroom. He has successfully defended clients on a variety of issues, and won more than 60% of his jury trials!

While at Taylor Anderson, Don will be focusing his practice on insurance defense, premises liability and personal injury cases.

  • Donald is a combat veteran who has advocated for, and worked with, other veterans in addressing their physical and psychological needs. He has worked with Veterans Courts in Texas and New Mexico, and his pro bono work is focused on assisting other veterans.
