Blake K. Herron is an associate attorney with Taylor Anderson, LLP, and has served the firm’s clients as both primary defense counsel and monitoring counsel in variety of cases spanning the nation and encompassing thirteen states. Blake brings a wealth of experience to Taylor Anderson’s already formidable litigation practice. In the courtroom, Blake’s experience runs the gamut. Whether analyzing cases during prelitigation, responding to the initial complaint, responding to or conducting discovery, drafting dispositive motions, preparing lay and expert witnesses for trial, mediation, or trying cases (and the subsequent appellate process), Taylor Anderson relies upon Blake to represent the firm’s clients ethically and effectively. Blake’s practice areas include wrongful death, catastrophic injury, premises liability, workplace injuries, trucking accidents, motor vehicle collisions, oil and gas incidents, abuse, medical liability, roadway construction and maintenance of traffic, and claims stemming from shootings.
Prior to joining Taylor Anderson, Blake worked as a litigation associate with a sophisticated, boutique Denver-based firm representing lenders, creditors, private investors, mortgage servicers, builders, contractors, and property owners in Colorado courts. Prior to entering private practice, Blake was a law clerk for Judges Marcelo Kopcow and Shannon Lyons in Colorado’s Nineteenth Judicial District, where he drafted substantive orders, observed courtroom proceedings, and aided the Court in a host of research and writing projects.
Amongst the varied services provided by the firm, Blake has experience:
- Representing insurance carriers as monitoring counsel in excess liability cases across the nation.
- Performing investigations of roadway conditions and complex liability events to drive case outcomes and mediation value in clients’ favor.
- Identifying key areas of testimony and prepares clients and experts for their testimonial presentations both at deposition and trial.
- Drafting all key pleadings from answers, discovery responses, dispositive motions, pretrial motions and briefing, jury instructions, and appellate briefing.
- Mediating disputes with adjusters and insured companies and individuals.
Blake grew up on a wheat farm in Washington state where his family continues to farm. Before practicing law, Blake studied biochemistry at Washington State University, where he worked as an analytical chemist in a plant biochemistry laboratory for several years. Blake, his wife, and two children (plus one on the way) live in Colorado.
