Floyd R. Hartley Jr.

Partner

Floyd helps his clients navigate complex, high-stakes claims around the country. He brings more than 25 years of litigation experience to the defense of catastrophic personal injury claims, bet-the-company business disputes, and complicated commercial litigation. He has routinely and successfully represented public and private companies, as well as individuals and local governmental entities, in complex, multi-million dollar matters involving a wide range of legal and technical issues across a broad spectrum of industries and fields. From 2010-2014, he served as a lead member of the trial team successfully representing Halliburton nationwide in all civil litigation arising from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Committed to efficiently serving his client’s interests, Floyd embraces the opportunity to help his clients through difficult circumstances, craft solutions to their challenges, and present the best case possible to juries. With a strong technical aptitude and innate curiosity, he delves into the nuances of his clients’ business and industry to better understand their situations, the claims they face, and the solutions to their legal problems. He also leverages those qualities and his drive to solve his clients’ legal problems into developing a deep understanding of the medical, scientific, and engineering principles involved in a case. Whether it is neuroanatomy of memory, etiology and effects of TBI, the way humans interact with their environment, engineering principles in bridge construction or complex fluid dynamics in deep water oil drilling, Floyd dedicates himself to understanding the science involved to better serve his clients and achieve success.

Floyd routinely represents clients in high-stakes litigation around the country. He has tried cases to verdict in multiple states. He has successfully handled eight, nine and ten-figure cases. In every case, regardless of size and location, he tirelessly devotes himself to his clients’ interests.
